And that's April. All things considered a pretty uneventful month for me, but given how doomy-and-gloomy I've been feeling most of the year it's been nice to just have a kind of chill time these last few weeks. Been playing a fair amount of games and such, but nothing much else of note has been happening in my life if I'm being honest. Outside of the stuff I'm mentioning below, I intend to play through Drakengard 2 fairly soon, as well as Final Fantasy 7, but I've barely scratched the surface of either of those. I still want to finish Harvestella, but that's been on the backburner for a while now and I'm worried the longer I wait the harder it'll be to get back to that. Still, I've got a lot of irons in the fire right now and it's kind of nice. As much as I like sinking into one specific thing for a time, spinning these plates like this is its own sort of enjoyable.
As far as games go, I've spent most of this time playing Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. I've been aware of Tomodachi Life for a long time but I never played the 3DS game (or its predecessor). I did, however, get really into Miitomo so this game is still kind of like stepping back into an old pair of shoes. It's calm and pleasant and an incredible timesink. There's only so much "game" to it but I've been having a wonderful time. Such a great time, in fact, that I may write up a thing about this game once I've filled out my islands. Yeah, I, uh, said islands, plural. This game has its hooks in me, dude.I also started Pragmata, the new Capcom sci-fi shooter and that's been fun. It's not an exceptionally long game but I've been preoccupied with Tomodachi Life and some of the other stuff I'll mention so it hasn't been a super high priority for me. Still, it seems very good and I'm looking forward to digging deeper into it once I set aside some time. Diana and Hugh's dynamic seems very fun.Another thing I've been playing is, well, the first inFAMOUS. I've played this before, many many times in fact, but I had an idea for a blog post I wanted to do and thought it necessitated a replay of these games. I'll work my way through inFAMOUS 2 (and maybe even the PS4 games too) before I publish a thing I've been tinkering with. I'm going to try to get that out on June 7th, but only time will tell whether I hit that deadline or not. Anyway, this little paragraph is mostly just a way of holding myself accountable so I don't just forget that I had this plan.I also finished a Yakuza game for the first time in, uh, about six months. I reached the end of Kurohyou 2 and I had a great time with it. While I don't necessarily think it's as tight as its predecessor, it has a fantastic final act and it might have my favorite villain in the series so I'm absolutely glad I played it. I wrote about it much more detail here, as you probably could have guessed by now.
